Don’t worry, I am not going to ask what all is going against you and I am sure the list will be different from one person to another. But I would still like to goad you to ask the question yourself – what all are the things that are standing in your way between you and your goal. I think one of the first steps to clearing a hurdle is to identify it, and honestly acknowledge it and then try and find ways to sort it. Of course there are going to be things that are going to work against you. It has done so in the past to you, to me, to the IAS topper and to the biggest achievers in the world. That doesn’t change anything though.
Cos challenges are not where the solutions start, it is your actions which determine the solution and you who determines the impact of those hurdles on you. You can sit in the corner and complain the things that are going against you or remember that when things are going against you, they are just questioning your committment to making things happen, they are not questioning your ability. It certainly seems very much like that but every achievement in the world asks that one right thing – HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT and what all you are going to do to make it yours. You can do a lot of things but listing of problems is not going to be one of them. It is you who is control, seize it and you shall be more than fine to rein in this exam!
