MOTIVATION : There is a lot to be afraid about

There were all kinds of things I was afraid of at first, ranging from grizzly bears to ‘mean’ horses and gun-fighters; but by acting as if I was not afraid I gradually ceased to be afraid.

– Theodore Roosevelt

I guess the dynamics of fear speak for themselves. The question most times has been – What is the purpose of fear? What is it trying to tell us? And more importantly, is it trying to help us? Is it motivating us or pulling us down? It is making us do more or consuming us?

There are a lot of questions that pop out when we say fear but the one thing that can help us is the questions we ask ourselves. Tuning it to the UPSC format, what are the fears? – The fear of the syllabus, the fear of an interview board, the fear of making it all the way up there and being shunned by the interview board? Well those will always be there, if we can pretend and give importance to these fears, why not pretend and say it doesn’t exist? Why not say it doesn’t make any difference? I am going to give my best any way. Kind of like Karmayoga, the actions are on which I have full control of, the results – they will take care of themselves.
