There are two fatal errors that keep great projects from coming to life:
1. Not Finishing.
2. Not Starting ……….Buddha.
While living at a farming community, a group of men planned to erect a new house. For many months they kept discussing about the plan, and because they did not fully agree on anything, nothing was done. Then one day, one man went out to the building site with a plumb line and began to hammer stakes into the ground. It wasn’t long before the house was built.
You can think and talk about a project for a long time, but only action will manifest it. If you wait until you are ready, you’ll never get anything done. Don’t wait until all the conditions are perfect for you to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect. As Civil servants, you will face many situations wherein, you’ll have to take spontaneous decisions. Some of us possess that spontaneity, most of us don’t. But it can be cultivated with practice. In your preparations, you are usually advised to prepare for the interviews at last. But practically you should prepare for the personality test, right from the beginning of your preparations. Developing a personality, which is spontaneous enough, takes time. Contemplate on your attitude and while facing critical situations in life, behave in the way, a Civil Servant is supposed to behave.
It’s better to be a devoted dreamer who puts heart and soul in his dreams, than to be a passive aspirant who only desires to pass this exam. Act Now. Remember “Today is the best day, Tomorrow it is going to be hard.”
